Thank you for all your continued support of our Nest!!!
So I’m sure many of you felt this was probably coming. As you know, the past couple years have been very rough for the retail world in general. A lot of things have changed, and the economy is showing it. We have tried to adapt, we moved locations after 6 years, we tried new business models but have ultimately decided that it is time to move on. While this has been very painful decision, I am also at peace with it.
If the past ten years have taught me anything, it’s that I was made to lead a community of people. People who are genuinely interested in helping one another and encouraging each other. A lot of you have been here from the time Miles was not even one, and he will be 12 this Fall. 12 years of unwavering support. We made it through multiple locations, 2 NICU babies, a house fire, and so many more things. Without all of you I don’t know where I would be.
I was born a performer, an artist. I never complied to the norm. For years, I couldn’t understand why and tried to fit myself into this box that I thought was gonna make me happy. I finally found peace and fulfillment when I opened The Robyn’s Nest. It gave me a sense of purpose outside of being a mom, my other greatest accomplishment. My husband, my biggest supporter has always held me up in all these moments. My parents have been there for every step, every change, every move. Sometimes I look around and just think about how lucky I am. And then there’s Jill. We met working at Benuccis when we were 20. We have worked together in some capacity since then. 24 years of working friendship that grew to family. Our kids are cousins, and we are raising them together. Like how lucky am I?
The Nest was born out of a love for amazing clothing, feeling good about our bodies and finding ourselves after children, big life changes, marriage, divorce, death. So many things.
People often think closing a business means the dream is over. For me, it’s just changing shape.
The Robyn’s Nest Boutique has given me friendships, unforgettable memories, and the opportunity to serve this incredible community. I’ll forever be grateful for every person who walked through my doors. Now it’s time to follow another dream—one I’ve carried with me for years.
A little over a year ago, I lost one of my very best friends. He was my mentor, and a best friend to me. He always encouraged me to sing whenever I could. Ever since, I have felt a very strong pull back to my music. I started my own band about a year ago, and have always wanted to open my own studio.
That being said, I’ll be closing the boutique and opening Robyn’s Nest Performing Arts Studio. Here I will help young performers grow in confidence, creativity, and their love of music theatre.
Thank you for believing in me through every chapter. I hope you’ll join me for this next one.
Words can’t express how deeply thankful I am for each and every one of you during this very special chapter of my life.
Xoxo.
Robyn and Jill
